Calling Features Instructions
Call Waiting
This feature allows a customer to be notified by a tone of an incoming call while they are on an existing call.
- No activation codes are required.
- The first call may be put on hold and the second call answered.
- The first caller will not hear the tone and the second caller will hear a regular ringing tone.
Activate Call Waiting
No customer action is required.
How To Use Call Waiting
Depress the hookswitch for approximately 1 second to place
the first call on hold. The second caller should then be on the line.
Each conversation is private and cannot be heard by the other caller. Depress the hookswitch to alternate between calls.
Call Forwarding
This feature allows a customer to transfer incoming calls to another number.
- 72# plus number to activate and 73# to deactivate
Activate Call Forwarding
Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone. Then dial 72# and listen for the dial tone.
Next, dial the number the calls should be forwarded to and listen for the call to be answered.
If there is an answer at the forwarded number, Call Forwarding is activated. If there is no answer or a busy signal is reached, hang up and repeat the activation procedure within 2 minutes.
If this is done, 2 beeps will confirm Call Forwarding is activated.
Deactivate Call Forwarding
Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone. Then dial 73#.
2 beeps will confirm that Call Forwarding is deactivated.
Calling Number/Calling Name Directory
This feature allows a customer to view the name and number of an incoming call before answering.
No activation codes required. Calling Number/Calling Name Delivery requires a compatible display unit which connects to a standard telephone or a special telephone equipped with a viewing window.
Activate Calling Number/Calling Name Delivery
Connect a display unit or telephone equipped with a viewing window to the telephone line.
When a call is received, the information will display on the viewing window after the completion of the first ring.
3-Way Calling
This feature allows a customer to form a 3-way conference with 2 other individuals at different telephone numbers.
- No activation codes required.
- Utilize the hookswitch for flash button.
Activate 3-Way Calling
Lift the receiver and dial the telephone number of the first individual.
When the call is answered, depress the hookswitch and listen for the dial tone. This puts the first call on hold. Then dial the telephone number of the other individual you wish to include in the call. When the called party answers, you may talk privately with that caller.
To make the call a 3-way conversation, depress the hookswitch for 1 second. This will add the first individual you had on hold and you will have a 3-way call.
Deactivate 3-Way Calling
Hang up and both calls will be disconnected.
To disconnect the second individual, depress the hookswitch for 1 second and the original party will be on the line. If either caller hangs up, you can continue to talk to the 1 remaining.
Voice Mail
This feature allows a customer to receive messages at his or her number without answering the telephone.
- Callers are greeted by a recording and asked to leave a message.
- Voice Mail messages can be retrieved from any touch tone telephone.
The Voice Mail system is like a telephone answering machine but does not require any equipment other than a standard touch-tone telephone.
How To Use Voice Mail
Pick up the receiver and listen for the dial tone. Dial the Base Voice Mail telephone number. The Customer Service Representative will furnish you with the correct exchange prefix and number.
Listen for the recording and follow instructions.
